Not the song I originally wanted to post…but still kind of awesome. I’ll work on the other one, which shall remain a surprise.

Whole heartedly hate

Heart of hearts.

Another expression that makes my skin crawl.

Not sure why. I think it is along the same lines as “Think again.” Though much less of a ‘in your face’ quip.

I think it has more to with the hollow poeticism of it. There are soo many other better ways to express the same sentiment.

The latest from the 10 Pager

The role of cultural imperialism instigated by the globalization of cinema coupled with the political climate of Japan at start of Japan’s film industry provides reason for the presence of Western culture in the East. In 1868, thirty years after the Meiji restoration, which resulted in the modernization of a previously feudal system, Japan’s film industry took root. From the outset, there were two popular genres among the Japanese population; the period drama, or the jidai-geki and the modern social drama that was often inspired by traditional Japanese Kabuki theater.3 Both were genres that Kurosawa dabbled in frequently.

Lesson Learned Today.

The Impossiblity of Concentration.

How great it must feel to like someone and have them like you back. I can’t remember what that’s like, or if I ever really knew to begin with.

Think Again.

“Think again,” is proably the most hollow comeback ever. It makes me laugh whenver I hear it used in real life.

Though I enjoy seeing the look of satisfacion on their faces after they finally got to use the phrase they remember so vividly from numerous television programs and films from their childhood.

The beginnings of my last collegiate term paper.

… to examine the interplay between typically American genres; the western and the noir, with classic British literature and themes in Japanese cinema, specifically through the films of Akira Kurosawa and how they coalesce to create a falsified postmodern tool of national identification…

Though my thesis might not indicate it, I love Kurosawa. Thank you Professor Soumah.
